Integrity & Intent Statement with Code of Conduct, Confidentiality and Conflict of Interest Policy

1. Intent Statement

The undersigned declares full commitment to the mission, vision, and objectives of ONE ROOT GLOBAL NGO. This organization is dedicated to empowering the Afro-Caribbean diaspora through pillars such as spirituality, media, education, youth & elders, entrepreneurship, arts, and culture.

In all activities carried out within and on behalf of ONE ROOT GLOBAL NGO, the undersigned upholds integrity, respect, transparency, and responsibility.

2. Code of Conduct

All employees, volunteers, partners, and board members of ONE ROOT GLOBAL NGO commit to the following rules of conduct:

  • Respect: We treat each other and our communities with dignity, regardless of origin,
    gender, religion, sexual orientation, age, or belief.
  • Responsibility: We take responsibility for our actions and speak out against unethical
    behavior.
  • Openness & Transparency: We communicate honestly, openly, and constructively
    inside and outside the organization.
  • No Discrimination or Abuse: Sexual, physical, verbal, or psychological abuse will not be
    tolerated.
  • Responsible Use of Resources: Financial and material resources of ONE ROOT
    GLOBAL NGO are used solely for their intended purposes.

3. Confidentiality Statement

The undersigned agrees to maintain confidentiality regarding all sensitive information acquired through their work with ONE ROOT GLOBAL NGO. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Personal data of participants, partners, donors, and staff;
  • Internal policy documents and project information;
  • Financial information and grant documentation;
  • Strategic or sensitive information on ongoing or future projects.
    This duty of confidentiality remains in effect even after the termination of the
    collaboration with ONE ROOT GLOBAL NGO.

4. Conflict of Interest Policy

The undersigned declares the following:

  • To immediately disclose any (personal or business) interests that may conflict with the
    objectives or activities of ONE ROOT GLOBAL NGO;
  • To refrain from decision-making or influencing matters where there is a potential
    personal interest or conflict;
  • Not to act on behalf of ONE ROOT GLOBAL NGO in situations where personal
    relationships, interests, or preferences could affect impartial judgment;
  • To avoid any form of self-enrichment or personal gain within the organization.

In case of doubt about a potential conflict of interest, the matter will be discussed with the board or ethics committee of ONE ROOT GLOBAL NGO.

5. Final Provision and Signature

This declaration takes effect on the date of signing. Violation of this code may lead to measures such as reprimand, suspension, or termination of cooperation.

The undersigned affirms to have read, understood, and will adhere to this integrity
declaration truthfully.
